Just a short drive off the Pacific Coast Way, getting to Bribie Island is easy. The only Queensland island with a bridge, Bribie Island is less than an hours drive north of Queensland’s capital city Brisbane, and is less than 45 minutes drive from Brisbane’s International and Domestic Airport.
Flying to Brisbane
Brisbane Airport is the third busiest airport in Australia.
The airport has international and domestic passenger terminals. Qantas, Qantas Link, Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Tiger all operate daily services to Brisbane Airport. Sun-air in conjunction with Bribie Fast Shuttles operate 17 return shuttle transfers daily between Brisbane Airport and Bribie Island. Driving from Brisbane
Take the Pacific Coast Way – Gateway Motorway and the six lane Bruce Highway north to Caboolture then take the Bribie Island exit 152 and follow the signs to Bribie Island.
Public Transport
Queensland Transport’s TransLink service has a integrated ticketing system which will take you to Bribie Island from Brisbane CBD or Brisbane International Airport on participating buses and Queensland Rail.

Bribie Island Transport
Bribie Island has many public transport options. TransLink runs a bus service around Bribie Island and to neighbouring towns including Sandstone Point, Ningi and Caboolture. It connects with the train service at Caboolture. If you’d rather a taxi, Bribie Island has it’s own taxi service and is contactable on (07) 3408 9700. Uber is also availabe on Bribie Island.
Drive safely
Kangaroos, koalas and wallabies are more active at dawn, dusk and overnight. If you’re travelling at these times, take extra care to protect the wildlife. If you do come across something, dip your lights, slow down and enjoy nature’s show! Be alert during the daytime too. Lizards and goannas love to lie on the warm roads.
Take the car, ride the bus or hop on a plane. Just make sure you visit Bribie Island.
